28 Oct Here’s the businesses offering free kids meals through half term
Despite the government’s decision last week to vote against a motion to extend free school meals through the holidays, here in Sheffield, Sheffield City Council stepped in and extended the voucher scheme, stating they wished to ‘make sure children and young people in Sheffield don’t go hungry over the holidays’
So, thumbs up to the council, but, as they scrambled to put in place the framework to extend the scheme, a whole host of altruistic Sheffield businesses jumped into the breach, offering ‘kids eat free’ throughout half term, often with no spend required and no questions asked.
We don’t know about you, but in these difficult times, last week’s stream of announcements made us feel proud to be from Sheffield, so we’ve done our best to make a list of as many of the Sheffield restaurants and cafes offering their help. If we’ve missed you off, let us know and we’ll add you in:
