Announcing the news, Meadowhall said: “Get ready for a world of fun, magic and theatre along with the biggest selection of all your favourite toys We can’t wait to see you and your smiles!”

The news is a welcome boost for Sheffield’s retail sector as it continues to contend with the implications of the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

Hamleys was founded in 1760, making it the world’s oldest toy retailer, and has more than 160 stores across 18 countries.
